I dunno about you, but I'm excited that something HORRIBLE and SCARY is coming this Christmas. I hate talking about Christmas in September as much as the next curmudgeon, but this upcoming film from Michael Dougherty (of Trick 'r Treat fame) looks interesting. Instead of another heart-warming, eye-melting, painfully-predictable Santa and the true meaning of Christmas blah blah story, this promises to be dark, scary, and unsettling.
The role of Krampus in folklore is that of the Anti-Santa; instead of rewarding good children, Krampus punishes naughty children. In the film, an embittered child turns his back on Christmas, thusly summoning the ancient, demonic spirit of Krampus. Have a look at the trailer, what do you think? ReplyDeleteJust saw the trailer for this yesterday while watching trailers before Crimson Peak came on in the theatre and I CAN'T WAIT!! Knowing now that it is by the same man who made Trick 'r Treat makes this even more exciting! This looks like another amazing movie like that one. The new movie The Boy looks interesting, too.
